Galore Creek – A Virtual Tour
Galore Creek Mining Corporation has developed an interactive 3-D virtual reality model of the Galore Creek project. Working with LlamaZOO and their MineLife VR technology the team integrated geospatial and mine planning data into a replica of the proposed mine development.
Supporting Tahltan Culture and Literacy
Galore Creek Mining Corporation supports Tahltan communities with ongoing culture and literacy camps that provide the opportunity for children to improve their reading and language skills and enhance their knowledge and awareness of Tahltan language and culture.
Maintaining fish habitat
In 2011, we constructed a wetland near our Ch’iyōne camp, a Fish Habitat Compensation Pond, which provides habitat for Dolly Varden trout, the local trout species. This wetland was built to compensate for the impacts of our road construction.
Elders Groundbreaking Ceremony, Camp Blessing and Naming Ceremony
In the summer of 2007, the Galore Creek Project celebrated a groundbreaking and ribbon cutting ceremony with Tahltan elders. A key part of this ceremony was the re-naming of all the project camps with Tahltan names and the blessing of the camps by the Tahltan elders.
