Geologists from the Galore Creek Project team were honoured to participate in the 2024 Tahltan Central Government’s (TCG) Exploration Industry Training program, held in Iskut and Telegraph Creek from May 29th to June 3rd. The TCG Exploration Industry Training program was initiated to introduce Tahltan members who live outside of Tahltan Territory to what the mining and exploration industry looks like in Territory. Training participants visited Iskut, Telegraph Creek, and had site tours at Red Chris and Schaft Creek over the course of the session.
Galore Creek geologists presented on the exploration process and different opportunities and aspects of working in industry, followed by a hands-on demonstration of core processing and core cutting at NORAD Logistics’ camp near Iskut. We enjoyed spending time with the participants and event organizers. It was great to work with a group of enthusiastic and engaged participants.
