Our Team

The Galore Creek team brings together international mine-building expertise, local experience and traditional knowledge. The Galore Creek team benefits greatly from the technical expertise and mine development experience of its owner companies, Teck and NOVAGOLD, whose staff provide support to the project.

Our corporate office is located in Vancouver and we have satellite offices in Smithers and Dease Lake, British Columbia, Canada.

Corporate governance is provided by a Management Committee composed of senior management representatives of GCMC's owners, Teck and NOVAGOLD. The Management Committee serves the function of a Board of Directors for GCMC.

Key staff:

Peter Wells, Project Manager: Peter joined Teck Resources in 2010 as Senior Project Manager. He was seconded to the GCMC project as Design Manager later that same year and was responsible for producing the 2011 (NI 43-101) Prefeasibility Study. Peter was closely involved with numerous other projects at Teck between 2012 and 2015, and in January 2016, returned to the Galore project as Project Manager.  He brings more than 30 years' experience as well as extensive technical and project experience in the mining and mineral processing industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a certified engineer in South Africa. Peter began his career in South Africa and immigrated to Canada in the mid-1990's. Before joining Teck, he worked with some of Vancouver's major engineering companies, where he was responsible for multiple engineering studies of large mining projects worldwide.
